Template Rejected

When Meta rejects a WhatsApp template, status shows Rejected under Broadcasts → Send → Templates.

What to do​

  1. Open the template in the list or Details.
  2. Read Rejection reason (Meta’s explanation or code, such as an incorrect category). The list may show a short hint under rejected rows.
  3. Do not resubmit the same row — Meta will not accept a repeat of the rejected name/content on that record.
  4. Create a new draft with a new unique name after fixing the content (New Template / Create Template, or edit into a fresh draft as your workflow allows).
  5. Submit to Meta again from the new draft.

Filter the list by Rejected to find affected templates.

Prevention tips​

  • Match Meta category rules (Utility, Marketing, Authentication)
  • Avoid promotional language in Utility templates
  • Authentication templates are usually created in Meta Business Manager first, then linked by ID
  • Check Visit website URLs are valid https static links before submit
