Reply to a Message
Replying links your outbound message to a specific earlier message — similar to quoting in WhatsApp or Instagram.
Works on both WhatsApp and Instagram when you can send in that thread.
Start a Reply
- Hover a message (or tap ⋮ on mobile) to open the message menu.
- Click Reply.
- A compact preview appears above the composer showing the sender name and a short excerpt of the original text (or [Media] for attachments).
Click Cancel reply (× on the preview) to clear it.
Send the Reply
Type your message and click Send as usual. The preview context is attached to your outbound message.
In the Thread
Your sent message shows a quoted strip above the body with the original context. Click that strip to scroll to the earlier message when it is still loaded in the chat history.
Limits
