Publish a WhatsApp Flow and Add It to a Template
Build a static WhatsApp Flow (Meta form), Publish it, put it on a template with Add Flow, get the template Approved, then send it in a campaign or an open chat.
WhatsApp Flows under Broadcasts → Flows are not Bot Flows. Dynamic endpoint Flows are not supported in Kazenly today.
Detail: WhatsApp Flows · Templates.

Path at a glance
- Create the Flow
- Publish the Flow
- Create or edit a template
- Add Flow button
- Submit the template to Meta
- Send it
1. Create the Flow
- Open Broadcasts → Send → Flows.
- Click New Flow (empty: No Flows yet.).
- Lead: Static · Without endpoint — visual editor (multi-screen), paste JSON, or import a Meta Flow ID.
| Tab | Use when |
|---|---|
| Visual editor | Build on screen (Add Screen for multi-screen). Live preview updates as you edit. |
| Paste JSON | Paste Meta JSON, or Upload JSON File. |
| Import Meta ID | Link a Flow that already exists in Meta. |
Short text / Long text support Meta’s character limits on publish.
If paste includes dynamic endpoint markers, use Convert To Static before Register.
Save with Register / Save JSON / Import as shown for that tab.
2. Publish the Flow
- On the list row, click Publish (also View, Edit, Refresh).
- View is an approximate on-device preview only — nothing is sent to Meta from preview.
Only a Published Flow can be attached to a template or sent from a chat.
3. Create or edit a template
- Open Broadcasts → Send → Templates.
- Create Template (or edit a Draft).
- Set Name, Category (Utility or Marketing), Language, Body.
For Marketing, include STOP — Opt-out for Marketing. Full approve path: Create and Approve a WhatsApp Template (G2).
4. Add Flow button
- Under Buttons (up to three total), click Add Flow.
- Choose your Published Flow (and optional Add Website for a Visit website button).
- Save the draft.
Preview shows buttons under the bubble. Authentication templates cannot use a Flow button.
5. Submit the template to Meta
- Submit to Meta from the list or details.
- Wait until status is Approved (or fix Rejected with a new name — Template Rejected).
6. Send it
| Channel | How |
|---|---|
| Many people | Run Your First WhatsApp Campaign (G1) — pick this Approved template |
| One open chat (24h open) | Composer Send WhatsApp Flow |
| Outside 24h | Send a template that includes the Flow button (Utility via Send a Utility Template when free text is blocked) |
When the customer submits, the chat shows a read-only FLOW bubble labelled Submitted. Agents cannot edit those answers.
Optional next: map answers in a Bot Flow — Bot Flows · Contact Fields.
