Tags and Lists
On a WhatsApp contact profile, Tags and Broadcast Lists help you see how a customer is grouped. Both appear on the Basic Information tab.
Tags
If a contact has tags, they show as small labeled chips under Tags.
Tags on the Contacts page are display only — you cannot add, rename, or remove tags from the profile today. Tags may come from integrations or back-office processes your team configured.
There is no link between contact tags and Lists in the Inbox sidebar (conversation folders). Those are separate features.
Broadcast Lists
The Broadcast Lists section shows every broadcast contact list that includes this customer.
For each list you may see:
- List name
- Description (if set)
- When the contact was added
- Total contacts on that list
If the contact is not on any list, the profile shows Not part of any broadcast lists.
Managing list membership
You cannot add or remove someone from a broadcast list from the contact profile. To change membership:
- Open Broadcasts → Contact Lists.
- Choose the list and click Manage Contacts.
Campaigns use these lists as Target Audience — see Campaigns.
