Messaging Limit on Campaigns

Meta limits how many new customers a business can start conversations with (template sends outside an open chat) in a rolling 24 hours. Kazenly shows that limit under Quality Rating and Messaging Limit and checks it when you preview a Draft or Scheduled campaign.

Customers you already messaged in the last 24 hours do not count again toward the limit for this check.

Where It Appears

Open Broadcasts → Campaigns, then open a Draft or Scheduled campaign (details / preview). The Messaging Limit card appears when your workspace supports the check.

Over Messaging LimitAmberOver the limit, but Start is still allowed — Meta may not deliver messages beyond your limit.
Over Messaging LimitRedOver the limit and Start is blocked — Start is blocked. Capacity may free up in N h / in N min / now
Messaging Limit Not AvailableNeutralKazenly could not read the Meta limit — the campaign is not blocked for that reason

When Start is blocked, the Start Campaign control is disabled. Tooltip: Over your Meta messaging limit — see Messaging Limit.

If Start Fails at the Server

The list may show an error such as:

Cannot start "…" — This send needs N new customers but only M of your L daily messaging limit remain in the last 24 hours.

Trim the audience, wait for capacity to free up, or review quality and opt-in practices under Settings → WhatsApp.

What Is Not Checked (Yet)

  • Scheduled campaigns are not re-checked automatically at the scheduled launch time (v1).
  • The card is hidden on older backends that do not expose the check, or when the messaging-limit gate is off for the workspace.
