Token Expired
Meta access tokens for Instagram expire or can be revoked. Kazenly detects an invalid token and asks you to sign in again — inbound DMs and automations may stop until you reconnect.
What You See
Open Settings → Instagram → Connection.
When the token is invalid but the account is still linked, the status box shows one of:
| Display | Meaning |
|---|---|
| @yourhandle and Reconnect required (next to the handle) | Linked account, session no longer valid |
| Status: Token expired — reconnect required (red) | Same situation when the handle is not shown |
| Extra line: Your Instagram session expired. Continue with Instagram again to restore access. | Default guidance when no specific error is returned |
The primary action is Reconnect with Instagram (see Reconnect and Disconnect).
Disconnect remains available if you prefer to remove the link instead of renewing it.
What to Do
- Click Reconnect with Instagram.
- Complete Meta login and approve access (Opening Instagram… while redirecting).
- Wait for a green success banner (for example Instagram connected as @yourhandle.).
- Confirm Connected appears in green next to your handle.
Use the refresh icon if the page still shows the old state after OAuth.
Details (Optional)
Expand Details on the connection card to see when access renews or expires. This is informational — reconnect when Kazenly shows Reconnect required, not only when the date passes.
