Reconnect and Disconnect
Instagram Settings → Connection offers Reconnect with Instagram when the link exists but the access token is no longer valid, and Disconnect when you want to remove the linked account from your workspace.
Unlike WhatsApp, Instagram supports both paths from the same Connection card.
Reconnect with Instagram
Use reconnect when Kazenly still knows your Instagram account but Meta access has lapsed. See Token Expired for the exact status messages.
| What you see | Action |
|---|---|
| Not connected | Use Connect Instagram — Continue with Instagram |
| @handle with Connected (green) | No reconnect needed |
| @handle with Reconnect required, or Token expired — reconnect required | Click Reconnect with Instagram |
Steps:
- Open Settings → Instagram → Connection on app.kazenly.com.
- Click Reconnect with Instagram (button shows Opening Instagram… while redirecting).
- Sign in to Meta again and approve access.
- Confirm the status returns to Connected.
Reconnect with Instagram runs the same OAuth flow as the first connect.
Disconnect
When Instagram is linked, Disconnect is always available on the Connection tab — even if the token is still valid.
- Open Settings → Instagram → Connection.
- Click Disconnect.
- While the request runs, the button shows Disconnecting…
- On success, a green banner reads Instagram disconnected.
The status returns to Not connected. Automations on the Automations tab may prompt you to connect again before creating new rules.
Disconnect removes Kazenly’s stored link for this workspace. It does not delete your Instagram account on Meta.
Refresh Status
The circular refresh icon next to Connection reloads state without starting OAuth — useful after an admin change or if you closed the Meta window early.
