Campaigns
Broadcast Campaigns send an approved WhatsApp template to everyone on a contact list. Broadcasts are WhatsApp only.
Header images and PDFs can be uploaded once in the Media Library, then picked when the template needs an IMAGE or DOCUMENT header.
Open Campaigns
- In the sidebar, open Broadcasts.
- Under Send, select Campaigns (default).
Page title: Broadcast Campaigns · subtitle Create and manage your broadcast campaigns.
Create a campaign
- Click New Campaign.
- In Create New Campaign, fill in:
- Campaign Name
- WhatsApp Template — pick an Approved template. Hint: Only approved templates can be used. Pending, rejected, paused, and missing on Meta are listed but not selectable. Each option shows the name with category and status, for example
rahbar_enrollment · Marketing (APPROVED), so you can tell Utility vs Marketing before send. Options may also show missing on Meta and header type (for example IMAGE or DOCUMENT). - Language — prefer the same code as the approved template in Meta (often auto-filled).
- Header Image or Header Document (required when the template header is IMAGE or DOCUMENT) — pick from the Media Library, or Advanced: Paste HTTPS URL for a one-off public HTTPS link. Hint: Pick from the Media Library (JPEG/PNG) / (PDF), or use Advanced for a one-off HTTPS URL. For documents you may set Filename Shown to Recipient. Validation: Select a library file or enter a public HTTPS URL (not localhost).
- Template parameters — if the template has placeholders, all fields are required.
- Target audience — choose a contact list (name and contact count; dynamic lists may show ** · dynamic**). Audience hints can show matched / addressable counts. If the snapshot is out of date you may see Audience stale.
- Schedule (optional) — date/time, or leave empty to send when you start (Leave empty to send immediately).
- Click Create Campaign.
If the addressable audience is over 500, confirm Large audience — This campaign targets N addressable contacts (over 500). Continue? — with Create campaign or Cancel.
Use Edit Campaign later, then Update Campaign.
Template parameters
For each placeholder you can:
- Type free text, or
- Map a contact / campaign field from the suggested chips (for example contact name or phone).
The Message preview shows the header image thumb or document row when set, and amber chips for anything still empty. You cannot save while required parameters are blank. Mapped fields preview using a contact from your selected list when available.
Start, simulate, and monitor
| Action | When to use |
|---|---|
| Start Campaign | Sends or schedules to the selected list. Shown only for Draft or Scheduled campaigns. Disabled when the preview Messaging Limit card blocks Start. |
| Simulate | From Details — test without messaging the full list. |
| View Details | Delivery stats (Recipients · Sent · Delivered · Read · Failed), template preview, Messaging Limit (draft/scheduled), Addressable breakdown, and Start / Simulate when allowed. |
Messaging Limit
On Draft and Scheduled campaigns, preview may show a Messaging Limit card: Daily Limit · Used In Last 24 Hours · New Customers In This Campaign · Remaining, with a green / amber / red notice. Full detail: Messaging Limit on Campaigns.
See also Quality Rating and Messaging Limit under Settings → WhatsApp.
Failure breakdown
When Failed is greater than zero, Campaign Details (eye / View Details) may show Failure breakdown under the stats:
- Subtitle: Meta delivery errors by code (message counts)
- Columns: Meta code (for example
#131026) · Count · Meaning (short reason such as undeliverable or WABA billing)
Counts are message totals by error code — not a list of phone numbers. Use this to spot systemic issues (billing, media, undeliverable numbers) after a blast.
While a campaign is Running, Start is hidden on the list and in details so you cannot start it again while sends are in flight. Wait until it finishes (or fails/cancels) before any further start actions.
While Running or Scheduled, the list may refresh so counts stay current.
List and details may show Audience stale (or Audience stale — using last snapshot) when a dynamic list could not refresh in time — the last membership snapshot is still used.
Who gets skipped
Recipients marked Opted out or Not on WhatsApp are not sent the message. Campaign list and details can show an amber line such as:
N skipped (X Opted out, Y Not on WhatsApp)
(See Consent Management.)
Filter by status
